    Hi Everyone

First post on here. My 2012 Golf Mk6 boot sensor has developed a fault where it thinks the boot is open when it isn't and consequently 'bings' at me constantly. Very annoying. It's also causing the alarm to keep going off.

I've searched the forum and found info on Mk 4 and 5 Golfs, but the cable routing seems to be different on the Mk6 so I'm posting here.

Can anyone please tell me where the sensor is located and how to fix / replace it please? Or is there simply a power cable to it I could disconnect please?

I've attached an image of the boot with the trim removed to hopefully help identify.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Best
    Craig

It can be the washer jet fitting leaking onto the lock unit or a broken cable in the roof to tailgate harness on the left, the wires are all white which is very confusing. You must carefull release the conduit clamps or they will not re-seal.

Thanks for getting back to me. I've realised today the problem only seems to occur when it rains, making me suspect water is getting into the sensor but not from the washer jet fitting. Do you know where the sensor is? Is it in the lock unit?

    Thank you.

The flap lock sensor is in the badge handle unit and not available as a spare part, there are 4 different units depending on specification but without camera it is part number 6R0 827 469 D ULM and it costs £125.23 + VAT from TPS.
