Parked up just now at home (A4 2003 cab), went to lock with the remote, and nothing. Battery is fairly new in the keyfob, and range hasnt been dropping so doubt its the battery. Any ideas please guys?

As shes now sat on the driveway unlocked (got a spare but it isnt programmed I dont think, it never was)

Hi Cassa, i watched a video on youtube but it was:

put key in drivers doorlock and turn and hold it in turned position
Wait for red LEd inside window (where the door lock would be, the old fashioned ones that pop up) to come on, and wait til it goes out
put key in ignition and turn to position 2 (on, but not starting the car)
    turn off
repeat 3 times, then leave on position 2
press 'unlock button' on keyfob 10 times
    remove key, all sorted

There may be an easier way, but this way worked yesterday, on both keys too

Crikey, I think that may be the procedure for a different vehicle as I definitely don't have to do that on mine (though as it includes all the steps you do need, it will work).

Unlock the drivers door with the key (no need to hold it).
Put the key in the ignition, turn it on (need to do this within about 10 secs or the alarm goes off), all the other doors on the car will unlock.
Take the key out, press the lock button then the unlock button.

    That's it.

Could well be your method GeorgeE, the one i tried was the first one i found on YouTube. I did think it was bl00dy long winded, but it worked. Had it not, no doubt I'd of found the easier way of doing it..... story of my life...
