    Hi all,

I've got a Throttle Body that has the plastic gears worn out so i've ordered a repair kit (new gears) which i'm going to fit when they turn up but does anyone know if i need to re-calibrate this at all ? VAG-COM says it's stuck closed but it's actually stuck open (default by the spring) so just wondering if it'll need re-calibrating or will this "reset" itself ?

    Thanks in advance.

I will assume it is a BKS code engine, fitting a new J338 is a fit and forget job but if you are rebuilding yours (how much is the repair kit?) I would at least want to do an output test on it before installation. The Elsawin barely even mentions it is there, just one line in the assembly diagram. £480 new from VW is taking the AdBlue..... Euro Car Parts is hardly any better! https://www.eurocarparts.com/search/422440860

Repair kit is £30 as it's just the 360 plastic cog and the half moon bit as the teeth have worn on mine. I don't think it'll be an issue but the VCDS thinks its stuck closed but it's actually stuck open so i'm obviously thinking that when i replace these bits and fit it then the car will STILL think it's closed when it's open so wasn't sure if it'll try and move it again and then register it's now working and open it fully or close it fully and reset itself.

    This is the kit : THROTTLE BODY REPAIR KIT AUDI VW 2.0 2.5 2.7 3.0 4.2 TDI A4 A5 A6 A8 Q7 TOUAREG | eBay
