    Hi all I recently brought a very golf mk5 1.9tdi and having problems 1st week had to change clutch fly wheel and then gear box after all this work I realised the car shakes on starting so took it to the Machanic he told me it’s the vw alternator bracket mount is broken so and it was digging in to the timing belt so he replaced everything and took it home all good then in the morning I started it and it shaked and alternator bracket was broken again I have taken it back to the Machanic he could not find the cause of this problem any recommendations please.

    Did you check the alternator pulley was working correctly? It has a clutch system that enables it to spin freely in one direction, if it is seized it is know to cause vibration and damage the tensioner.
