    Guys, Ive got a load of play in the bushes of the front control arm (and a vibration at speed) so Im going to change the front control arms - can anyone tell me is it an easy job and do I need to jack up car and wheel etc?

    Audi call those wishbone links and for the Allroad they are specific and not used on anything else or available aftermarket as far as I can tell without being at work to double check, Audi part numbers 4Z7 407 693 D and 694 D left and right respectively and these are £212.04 each. The damper link (AKA control arm) is also type 4BH specific.

    If it is only the rubber bushing it can be replaced, much cheaper. Internal 4D0407182G external 4D0407181H. Another thing, after you have installed the control arm, you need to tighten the screws when the center of the wheel is 402 millimeters from the wing of the vehicle.

    Cheers Amiram, yes i did see those, i dont have a press though so not sure how successful Ill be at getting it out with a socket and hammer?!
    Thanks for the reminder about torquing it up I had read that someone else too, make sense to stop it twisting when under load.
