A6 allroad 2.5TDI wont start - new to VCDS

Car wouldnt start and have been thinking about getting a VCDS anyway so Ive bought a VCDS from Grendan but it wont find any faults with engine?! Should it detect a fault for not starting?

(Car has been sitting around for a while and I did wonder if its the battery but its charged to 12.8v and drops to 10.5 when starting as I did have a similar problem 2 years back cured by new decent bosch battery.

Any ideas out there guys?

Changed Fuel Filter, bleed diesel with an £8 pump from Machinemart and its started! So far so good, easy and easy quick fix too!



done a bit of reading and decided ill change the Fuel filter tmrw (Bosch ECP £20)... seem an easy first step, might explain why not fault codes i guess if its holding fuel back?
