    Default Starter motor – 19-08-2018,08:12 PM
    Hi all can you help, i have a 2005 A4 B7 diesel 2.0. i was driving home when there was a short sharp noise from the engine like the start motor cranking up. i got home and turn off, turn key got power and no start motor crank. Next day i removed start motor and found a chew up spring in the port where starter motor bolts to engine??? Tested starter motor it's dead. Does anyone know where this spring comes from?     It's part of the bendix starter.

    Hi thanks. i get a wire cam and check the inside void between gearbox and fly wheel for other parts. thanks

    Looks like the springs from the Dual Mass Flywheel.
