Hi all iv read similar threads but still can't figure out what's went wrong...basically I was driving down dual carriage when I came to roundabout and realised my car had cut out. Thinking I must have stalled it tried restarting and eventually called The AA. The car does turn over but wont star also has a horrible screeching noise from front and glow plug light flashes....My car has currently been in garage for 4 days with no diagnosis yet...any help would be great. It's a 2008 b8 a4 saloon 131k milesScreenshot_20180819-144932.jpg

It could be a seized ac compressor but that would not bring on the engine MIL, in theory a seized ac compressor should shear its safety coupling but I have seen these not shear at low RPM and cranking won’t snap them so the engine would not crank fast enough. There must be codes stored so what are they?

Garage just got back to me and said the throttle body was faulty and jammed open so the car basically shut it's self down...also he believes the stress of this and me trying to start it may have damaged some teeth on the timing belt...does this sound plausible? Thanks for the help just hoping the 400 odd is im paying is worth it.

Jammed open will run, jammed closed will stop it and this reduces engine stress NOT increases it, that stinks of up selling.
