Recommend a code scanner 2003 A4

Am considering a cheapish code scanner for our A4 2003 3.0 petrol. Shes not in the greatest condition so not wanting to spend loads on one, is there one any of you would recommend please?

Chinese ones are crap - had one that killed my dash - had to reload the firmware to it that was not fun. VCDS is the only one worth buying - rest only do engine codes.

I had no idea.. I had a guy a few years ago who'd scan me for £10 (Im going back 6 years though) and email me the results, just after something to get me out of trouble.

What model is that please? I may take a look online, seen the Autel ones ranging from £15 to £149 so far....

I have the same one (had it around 7yrs) - over the years it has worked on my allroad, A3 V6 3.2 and now my B6 S4.

Cheap and easy to use, recommended option if you don't want to invest in a VCDS.

Hi,
Bought this several years ago on a whim from Aldi believe it or not for around £15. Used it to diagnose faulty coil packs and correctly a faulty ABS sensor on the rear of my A4 Cabriolet
. You get the scanner and booklet with relevant fault codes.
