    Hello, brake pad warning light is on (MK 5 golf) but the brake pads are not connected (Cable has been cut off pad !!) can this light be disabled ?

    Yes join both wires together on the car side.

    Hi and thanks for reply.....The cable for the pad warning light ends with a socket for the pad wire to connect to - the cable from the brake pad has been cut short - do I short the plug/socket out?

    Hi yes the take the two wires from the car side, strip them back and short together.

    can also be done with vcds if you have it.

    Thank you for your replies.....just one more....any reason why this light has just come on - I put new pads on about 2 months ago (they are still fine) the cable from the pad was never connected yet this light has suddenly appeared !!
