since my 170 sport estate got written off by some twit behind, ive had to find a new car.
Now ive bought another 2012 170 sports estate with a few more bells and whistles but doesn't everything my original car had. As ive got both cars at the mo. Ive started swapping things IE the foldable door mirrors (no memory seat in either car) from my junk car to my new one, so ill only have knob operated folding mirrors.
So swapping switch and window motor and door mirrors make the mirrors operate as per the old car. But now ive got a number of errors. Is this because ive swapped bits or is there other problems??
    Abs error
    Parking assist is not available
    Airbag error
    Directional lights error.
    Auto start/stop

Can i also ask peoples opinions on towbars. I normally go for fixed flange towbars. But ive read cars with reverse sensors should have detachable ones. And i assume ill need a vehicle specific wiring kit?

I am not sure about the swapping parts.

The only reason not to have a fixed ball/bar is that you would have something protruding within the set detection distance. I would have thought as long as you remember this you should be ok. If I recall when my visual detectors show red the bumper is still 30 to 40cm from the object. A tow ball would not normally exceed this distance from the bumper. The only objection I have to fixed balls is bashing your shins every time you use the boot.

Didnt think about the boot much, its got keyless entry and electric boot so i think it can be opened with the foot near the middle?

    So has mine.

Maybe the bar would infringe the sensor.

Does anyone have an idea for fixing my errors. Should i try disconnecting battery for a bit or will it cause more issues?

Ok. Finally went out for a bit of a drive. Just round the block, and still got most errors. Is there anyone nearby sudbury, ipswich or colchester that would minding resetting things? Ive tried a couple of garages and waiting call backs if they can fit it in?

Might think about getting Obdeleven? Are they good? Thanks
