    Hi Everyone,

this is is my first post. I have read everything I can on the above. The car cannot be scanned by vagcom etc as the dash will not power up.

I got the the car Saturday. Scuttle was badly clogged blocked so cleaned it carefully. Used the car later in the day. Sat evening had the above problem. I have Tried:

    disconnecting the battery including overnight

ECU connections look fine but ECU not removed.

No signs of water under the dash or in the car

    charging the battery.

    Replaced relay 460

checking all fuses and relays including enginebay 433 A1 A2 position

removing battery and checking cleaning all earths I could find

    removed dash checking terminals

nothing, a VW specialist came out today but as he could not scan advised will need to go into his garage next week.

Can anyone think of anything else I can try?

    thanks

    Ted

It will cut out instantly if the dash is not powering up as the engine ECU will not receive its start authorisation from the immobilser which is in the instruments. Can the rest of the cars system be accessed such as CAN BUS and engine ECU? Which year and engine code?
