Hi guys,

Quite new to the forum but thought I would try my luck and see if anyone can help diagnose what is up with my 80!

When cold she starts and runs nicely, can set off and drive no problem. If however I use too much throttle and the second venturi opens (a bit like a twin choke carb) then it coughs and misses and splutters, stick with gentle throttle all is well.

Once the engine is warm this issue clears and it runs spot on. I've had lots of different attempts to fix it but none have so far helped, it seems like it over fuels but I don't know why. If I let it idle while coughing it gets up to temp and like flicking a switch the problem just goes, its strange!

Its had:

Cap leads and rotor arm
Plugs
MAF
Ignition amp
ECU tested
Lambda sensor
ECU temp sensor

None of which has helped. Done 20k miles though and it hasn't got any worse.....

The car didn't run when I bought it, immobiliser issue which I sorted and got it running. This cold issue has always been there if driven under the circumstances described, if I am gentle with it there is no problem at all.

Hoping someone has a new idea to try or another 1.6 owner is out there!

Thanks chaps
