Evening all, I run a 2002 b6 cabriolet and the rear glass window is becoming unstuck from the roof material.
Now apparently Audi suggest a complete new roof assembly which is out of the question.
I have viewed many Youtube videos of owners "gluing " the glass back in to the roof and I actually made a small repair in one corner, some years ago.
I am now in need of the name of a recommended convertible roof repair specialist who can do the job properly and satisfactorily without charging me the earth for a repair that lasts five minutes.
Does anybody here know of any such company, or have experience of any such company
I am in Ashford Kent and could potentially travel to a suitable company.

On another strain, does anybody know if the repair could be carried out under a windscreen replacement policy.
    Many thanks

    Stuart

I'm no expert Stuart, but from watching episodes of Car SOS one name that springs to mind is Aldridge Aldridge Trimming - I have seen that they repair car hoods on the show.

    Just a thought...

Easy enough to do it yourself. Get an art blade set and glass glue WITH primer from eBay. Have done both sides of mine with no issues just take care removing the old sealant. Also the primer is super messy stuff make sure you wear gloves and put newspaper under it. Just make sure you release the tension on the roof.

Thanks W,I decided to have a go the following day.
I used a tube of black bostik evo-stick 007, uv resistant, marine resistant super sticky, super fast setting, easy to use if a little messy until you get the hang of it.
As you pointed out definitely release tension of fabric to glass etc.
Has dried completely and is strong and water proof, really good stuff for £9,99 a tube which fits straight into your standard silicone sealant gun.
Only time will tell how long it will last, but the people that seem to know rate it very highly
    Thanks for the response

Glad it worked out. if you have any problems (the first time I did it I didn't use primer and it lasted about 2 years) re-do but get a primer off ebay first - it makes a huge difference.
