    Hi Guyz

got a 2011 Passat 2.0 tdi 170hp. A few days ago Parking EPp & ABS light came on in the morning, in the afternoon they went off again, on my way that night came on again. Saturday I used a Carista OBD reader fault code 03841 & 00290 left wheel speed sensor. When I drove off the lights when out, I cleared the codes with the OBD reader. Sunday I took it for a 200 mile motorway drive, no light nothing car drives normal, no noise from the hub anything? no codes nothing
Now I don't think it can be a faulty sensor as once that goes the light would constantly stay on. It could either be the hub/wheel bearing on way out or brakes wearing out? Has anyone had any similar issues? What to do? Any advise welcomed. Car has about 45k miles on it.

    thankz

I've got similar lights on at moment, 5 I total.

I'm convinced it's the sensor, they don't always fail instantly and mine became intermittent over two days then failed completely.

I've used VCDS and traced it to rear left wheel speed sensor, implausible signal.

Ordered one, 16 quid, and will be fitting it this week.

I bought it on eBay mate, it's not genuine / OEM but that hardly matters. Europart type stuff that most non- dealerships would fit, think it's Apec branded.

thanks light back on today but the sensor error fault didn't show 00290, just ABS 03841 & 01316. I'll change the rear left hub & sensor & see how it goes

The magnetic ring on the back of the bearings rusts and breaks up.

Update on this. I had some faff getting the correct sensor...

EBay one was wrong sensor, local factors then proceeded to order the wrong side! They eventually sorted a Bosch sensor for 35 quid. Fitted and problem solved, all lights out, ABS and stop start functioning again.

    Result.

Did the end of the old sensor show any signs of rubbing?

No, nothing. The pickup wasn't clean and perfect, it looked worn, but no scratches or obvious abrasion.
