I can’t see how the heater matrix could influence this problem.

I'm sure the pump works well, the old pump worked fine too, when I disassembled it I tried it, but once disassembled I changed everything, even the timing belt

    Hello people,
Problem found 😁😁😁, just as I thought. Today I bypassed the interior heating radiator, that is, I unplugged the 2 tubes from that radiator and fitted them together. I tried the car for about 30 minutes and the temperature always stuck to 90. The fan never started. I still want to try the car more with more time, but with 99% certainty the problem is the heating radiator in the cabin.

That is very interesting, the heater matrix works on a full bypass flow method and total blockage should not compromise the cooling system.

Have you any update? Have exactly the same issue and been to 3 different mechanics and now actually at the vw main dealers and even they are struggling to find anything wrong on initial looks. They want to replace the radiator!

I've been driving the car for three weeks with the passenger compartment heater radiator bypassed. so the machine does not overheat, it works perfectly. Saturday I replace it with a new one ordered online. you can try to bypass it like i did. just disconnect the two pipes that enter the passenger compartment and connect them together.
which is your car? do you know the engine code?

That is very interesting. I can see how a Golf 7 would be affected like this but not a Golf 6.

this problem appears on CAYC engines, including golf 6 equipped with this engine.

I see CAYC’s every day, day in day out and I have not had that issue.

I don't mean that it happens to all CAYC engines, I know it's rare but I know of some cases. also there are 2 types of thermostats in CAYC engines, I think it only happens in early CAYCs. I finally had some time to replace the small radiator in the cockpit. the car works perfectly.

I made a little video showing you how the radiator was clogged: https://youtu.be/oPLHMbG3MSY
