    Hi,

What else can I post too? I am trying to get help for my son & his new acquisition VW Polo 1.2..BMD E 3dr hatchback

Once vehicle was home Edgware every time one tries to start the engine yellow light with key in it flashes. Having read virtually all arrived posts.

    action: change temp sensor
    clean: terminals battery & earths
    fit a new battery

The car has been laid up for a few weeks before being delivered. Engine started OK no issues ran up to temp & confirmed ac working according to my son via phone line

Two keys supplied both with transponders - checked & confirmed NO space for any electronics.
Have acquired a used fob in case of required have no new unused transponders as I do not know what type to obtain.

I am looking for an expert to help to get this problem fixed.

Only non standard about the car a newish non standard cd radio????

    kindest regards,

    jollyK near J4 M1

Just an update managed to get someone to scan the polo lots of warnings of low voltage problems. Then checked basic wiring a wire was missing off the negative battery clamp.
Earthing cable inside sheathing turned to dust. order a new cable: vwauk 6q0971235g collect tomorrow morning at 9am looks like lots. The cable found under the battery had lost its ring terminal,

My son has miles to travel by bus collecting all the bits. When all the cars earths have been cleaned & checked with a meter perhaps a better chance of it starting but I fear I need new transponders too one came up weak signal the other ok. I cannot seem to find anyone local to M1 J4 to assist as I cannot get out of our flat plus I do not have VCDS or what is needed to get the keys & fobs working.

almost forgot does anyone know what all this means:

    VARIANT: ABSBMDX01
    VERSION: FM5FR52T0291N1K0GG

VW Polo E model I have no idea as to whether it needs a key fob with one or two buttons. I have a new 3 butting fob with virgin transponder.

go to VW Parts Department and ask them about the key fob

you can buy fobs from Trade Part Specialist and code it yourself, check out youtube

Traditionally 2 button fobs open & lock the car

third button is for unlocking the boot, usually. But its just as quick to open the car as per normal
    VW POLO 2002 1.2 12v , Audi A6 2006 2.0 TDi SE , Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDi

All 3 cars in the current fleet
