    Hi,

    a6 2.7 avant, '06.

The air con has developed a weird problem:

With it set to AC, ac light on, the central vents will pipe out good, chilled air, but the driver's vents blasts out really, really hot air - like it is coming out of a hairdryer!

Seems a bit intermittent, any thoughts gratefully received on what might eb the cause.

A fault code read will show a faulty flap motor so start there.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion - I'll try and dig out my code reader.
the weird things is the air coming out of the side vents is really hot i.e. definitely heated - not ambient air temp, even allowing for our great summer.

Not weird, quite common, usually the V238 upper right servo motor, each output has its own servo motor, depending on the system there are upto nine of them circa £150 each, complete dash panel and reinforcement tube removal, total sketch. With the dash out it is advisable to change ALL the motors that the dash has to come out for. What type of code reader?
