    UPDATE :
Had two new tyres put on the front and it’s still doing it.

I’m more inclined to call it a shudder now and it’s apparent from 60mph right through to 120.

Braking doesn’t affect it, neither does knocking it into neutral, it still stays. It actually makes the passenger seat shake.

    Has anybody got any suggestions??

Could it be engine related? Crank bearing or flywheel or something?
    I don’t get it

What about a four wheel alignment? Would that eradicate anything, although it doesn’t pull at all, she drives straight as an arrow

Difficult to speculate as to it's cause after you have tackled the usual suspects but I'd certainly not be driving at 120mph with such an issue.....
I suggest you get it to a garage that can test the drivetrain without the wheels to rule these out and/or go to a garage equipped with a Hunter 'roadforce' balancing system which can identify not just blance issues but any wheel and tyre irregularities like out of roundness. A bent wheel or out of round tyre can balance perfectly but won't run smooth. If you have hit something with enough force to bend a wheel I'd also be worried about driveshaft damage and any other damage to suspension components. Even a worn / damaged shock absorber or loose strut mount can cause these issues.

Thank you for that A6ALLROAD, appreciate your points.

I don’t drive at 120 though mate, I juyst floored it on an empty road to see what it did, if it disappeared or eased off etc.

I’ll get searching for somewhere with this machine

have you swapped the wheels front back?

If the wobble goes then and you feel the vibration in the seat then its one of the wheels.

I’ve got the two new boots on the front, a new budget on the rear and one of the original 4 old tyres.
I do have a spare with another new budget on(purely for a spare)I could put this on and have 4 new tyres but I think I know it’s not the tyres now. I’m changing the spigot rings at the weekend, then it’s gonna have to go in for a proper wheel an suspension check isn’t it

    going for the new tyres

    swap over the fronts first

then if that doesn't work, then swap one wheel at a time from front to rear

Did all this before with the wheel changing when I had the spare done and one tyre replaced.
    Never budged

I’m thinking a suspension component is worn or a driveshaft damaged

Who knows, could be in the gearbox

Im no guru---but its sounding as though just maybe, bottom ball joints one or both-and or controle arms one or all--at that speed the front lightens up just that wee bit, I had a pal with same prob on an A3 and it turned out to be bottom balljoints were f%%%ed once the frnt end lightened up they were mooving in an out just enough too have ya steering left an right at same time-ie-as if car was wobbling at front end, though I do recall it did throw a fault light on dash !!!! I could be completly wrong but worth a check !!! Tho on that yr--I am going for controle arms one or more-at road speeds frnt end planted bt wen making progress its light an then you feel any movement in the joints !!!!
