Quoted £49 today by Audi for a new pollen filter!.
Anyone know if they are available cheaper anywhere, I have seen them as low as £10 but do the cheap ones have the active charcoal, would much prefer OEM, but £49???

Yep, you could pick up an activated carbon with microbial treatment for well under £14 just ask any parts supplier. That's the type you want. You can get a cheap paper for less but not worth the bother.

Out of curiosity what’s the difference between the activated carbon and frecious?
Is one better than the other?

Conventional cabin air filters only prevent particles such as dust, pollen and diesel soot, together with odours, from making their way into the car via the ventilation system. But allergy and asthma sufferers, children and frequent car travellers can now breathe more freely all year round, if the car they are sitting in is fitted with the FreciousPlus filter from MANN-FILTER. This latest generation of cabin air filters absorbs almost all allergens and prevents the spread of bacteria and mould in the passenger compartment.

With FreciousPlus, your health has priority

    Traps almost 100% of allergens

Reduces the growth of moulds and bacteria by more than 98%

Blocks particulate matter almost completely (PM2.5)

    Women !

One FP was fitted and upon a recent shared journey the fan speed was 0 and AC off when I asked why the reply was because of a few lost mpg , I didn't have the heart to explain for fear of not being understood .

So down comes the windows.. that lets in everything and ruins the areo...
