Hi, I am new to this forum, I have worked as a Seat master tech for 7 years and finally now own my own VAG vehicle!
I have just had my 2014 2.0 190 tdi ultra avant remapped to between 220-230 bhp by Celtic tuning which has totally transformed the vehicle. But I can’t help but feel the dsg gearbox is holding it back slightly?
i have seen there is an option to remap the dsg gearbox and raise the torque limiter?
Has anyone had this done and does it make a difference to this model, is it safe?
Also does it have to be “mapped” in or can the torque limiter be raised via Odis?

Depends on the gearbox. There’s off the shelf remaps available for the popular boxes that’s fitted to the likes of the s/rs models.
Seen these box remaps before and they change the clamping force and the shift points depending which mode you are in. these boxes have torque/heat limits and if you go over it the car will limp. Some of the poorer remaps just remove all the safety and can cause proper damage so be aware who you use.
Think TVS are the people that does custom remaps for dsg boxes but never had any experience getting a box mapped. They seem to be the folk that has the better reviews.
Looked into this when I was gonna remap/chip my 272 but chickened out as the box was the weak point which is already at limit out the factory.
    Hope this helps.
