Parking sensor fail?

Ever since a heavy downpour my front parking sensors seem to have gone wild.
Even though its been hot for a while now they are still playing up.

I get a constant beep when i put it into reverse and it shows as if there is something on the front bumper which there isnt...

VCDS shows the following error

I cleared this, but its still failing although no fault has been logged again.

Does anyone know if this is as simple as just replacing the front mid-left sensor, or at least if thats the best thing to try first?

Also - as i dont really care about the front sensors - is there a way using VCDS to switch it off so only the rears are used?

try cleaning the sensor as if crud builds up in the ring then it will give you the symptoms that you have.

Had a look at this - is there any way to remove a front sensor short of dropping the bumper off?

Found how to get the reg plate holder off who b gave me access to the sensor showing the error above... Looks OK couldn't see how to clean dirt off etc so assumed its duff and ordered one off ebay...
Hopefully it's as easy as just swapping it out....

Update on this, replaced the sensor listed in vcds above with a £8 ebay job and all is working!
