    I need to replace the rear suspension springs on my standard 2004 Mk4 130pd TDI Estate as advised last MOT that they were corroded.
    The PR code is 1JH/OBC and there are three pink(?) paint marks on the spring (may be others but corrosion is bad). I’ve asked at my local main dealer and they can get genuine VW ones but at an astronomical price of over £180!

    CarParts for Less has three options when I input my reg number;

    627445040 for “standard suspension” No PR Code given.
    627790400 for “vehicles without sports suspension” No PR Code given.
    and 627445130 for PR Code 1JB “Heavy Duty”.

    Guessing last one definitely not for my car as PR Code is different but which of the other two should I be looking at?
    my car is completely standard and not a sports variant, if the second option said “vehicles with sports suspension” it’d be a no-brainer.

    Any help gratefully received.

    Private message me your REG number and the make of springs your are looking at and I will check. We did a full set of springs and dampers for a Golf 4 estate last week and very few companies listed the rears, on that particular car we could only get Bilstein where I would normally go Suplex. If you have any pink (violet) marks then that sounds like UB2 sports suspension.

    Your car needs spring 1J0 511 115 AF, these are £96.84 each from VW. Of the few manufactures that list this spring, the only ones I would trust are my personal preference, Suplex and TRW who are also very good being an OE manufacturer. Euro list the TRW Coil Spring | Euro Car Parts but there is no stock, I can't tell you if Suplex have them until Monday.
