    Hi

We Have a 2004 54 Audi A4 the problem we are having is the Aircon is blowing cool air but not cold air

we have checked the motor and the condenser they are all fine

The pipes under the bonnet is freezing and that seems to be fine

Could it be the evaporator outflow temperature sensor

can you confirm this for us please

any help would be great please.

It is on the sid of your air con radiator, open the bonnet and look down beside the passenger side headlight. You will need to remove it and check the code, mine was 8Z0959126 but also dont buy the wrong sensor as i did by just matching the code somehow online it also seems to refer to a newer sensor which doesn't fit. i bought this one the second time around Air Con Pressure Switch 6ZL351028-401 Hella AC Conditioning 3R0959126 8E0959126 4045621463595 | eBay

there is a schrader valve under this sensor that should seal off as the sensor is removed, bumper and maybe headlight need to be removed.

Removing and installing high-pressure sender -G65-
    Unplug connector -B-.
Remove high-pressure sender -G65--C-, tightening torque: 5 Nm.
    Replace O-ring -A- (10.8 mm; 1.8 mm) → Chapter.
    Note
t The cooling output cannot be checked with the high-pressure sender -G65- removed; the operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- does not switch on the compressor.
t The refrigerant circuit remains closed, “connection with valve”.
t Checking operation of high-pressure sender -G65- and signal supplied → Chapter and→ Chapter.
eye for an eye means the whole world goes blind

Most likely is either low on gas (even if you get a cold pipe, that may mean it is evaporating there rather than in the evaporator unit) or a failed sensor.

Vagcom/VCDS will diagnose a sensor fault (check the pressure reported by the sensor), lack of gas is a job for an aircon specialist. If you don't have the kit to handle the gasses then there isn't much you can do other than the sensor anyway as it will need the gas to be removed before breaking into the system and replaced afterwards for any of the other fixes.
