    Hi,

My golf has recently started going into limp mode. I can cruise along at 65/70mph for a while and when i need to overtake by planting the throttle the limp mode kicks in. If i restart the car it goes away. It can be on a flat road surface or an incline (like a slip road)

Ive done a vcds scan and here are the results:

    Address 01: Engine (J623-CFGB) Labels:. 03L-906-018-CFF.clb

Could the pressure sensor be faulty as another time i scanned it said short to ground G247, or is it more like the lift pump is clogged and or fuel filter?

Anyone had this issue before and if so what was the solution?

    Cheers

    Steve

I would go for a new lift pump first.

    VAG Error Code: 16471/15059/10116/5211/5212/5227/5231/2838/000135

    EOBD II Error Code: P0087

    Fault Location:
    Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too Low/Implausible Signal

    Possible Cause:
    Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)(K83) active.
    Power Loss.

    Fuel pressure too low.
    Fuel supply pipe blockage.
Fuel pressure sensor harness open circuit or shorted.
Fuel pressure sensor harness electrical circuit poor connection.
    Blocked fuel filter.
Visual Inspection of Hardware (Camshaft, Cam Follower, etc).
Mechanical Deficiency of Hardware (worn or missing parts)
    .

    Possible Solutions:
    Check/Replace all faulty Wiring/Connector(s).
Check Measuring Value Blocks (MVB) for Fuel Pressure.
    Fuel trim activity 0.90 - 1.15.
Output value rail pressure controller > 2 MPa.
Difference between target and actual pressure > -16.38 bar.

Fuel Rail Pressure Test with VCDS by Ross-Tech - YouTube

    Check for bent/squeezed Fuel Lines.
Check Low Fuel Pressure System for Leaks.
Check Fuel Filter & Filter in Fuel Pump.
Check the Fuel Quantity supplied by the Fuel Pump (G6).
Visual Inspection of Hardware (Camshaft, Cam Follower, etc).

    Special Notes:

    TFSI:

    Check
    Fuel Pressure.

Check Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 2027458/01-11-19 (North American Region (NAR)), for an improved Fuel Pressure Sensor (G410).
Check Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 2015153/15-11-03 (North American Region (NAR)), for a worn Intake Cam Shaft (superseded Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 15-10-02, 15-11-01 and 15-11-02).
Check Technical Product Information (TPI) 2014143 (Rest of World (RoW)), for a worn Intake Camshaft.
Check Technical Product Information (TPI) 2014909 (Rest of World (RoW)), for a worn Intake Camshaft. This Technical Product Information (TPI) does NOT list in the Audi A6 (4F) BPJ Engine even though it is effected as well,
so check for a worn Intake Camshaft of these too! When found on 2009 Audi 3.2 FSI AVS Engines, if Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 000022/P0016 is flagged,
please see Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 15-09-04.

    Diesel:
When found on Common Rail TDI engines, please see Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 01-10-11 (Technical Product Information (TPI) 2023624).
When found on Audi Common Rail V6, V8 and V12 TDI engines, please see Technical Product Information (TPI) 2020693. After mechanical all repairs are made Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve (N276) may need to be adapted and the EDC may need to be flash updated on the Audi Dealer level.

    Tech Notes:
There is a service bulletin for the following Volkswagen vehicles:
    Volkswagen Eos 2006-2007.

    Update:

Still no further along with this. Randomly going into limp mode. I have fitted new: in tank lift pump, fuel pressure sensor, fuel filter ( no metal detected in housing) and the control valve on top of the high pressure fuel pump.

Is there a cam ollower issue for these CR tdi engines? Engine code CFGB.

vehicle has a comprehensive vw service history.
I cannot see any kinked fuel pipes.
O did do a running fuel pressure test and figure were pretty close to be fair

This is doing my nut in!

Lift the back seat up again, take off the cover and take a picture of the fuel delivery unit and it’s pipes, then post it.
