Sory it's been a while since I was last on here. Given the age of the car now, I will probably need to become a regular.

The gas struts that allow the boot to open easily and remain open have failed. Should I look to fit genuine Audi ones or does anyone know who the OEM manufacturer is so I fit ones as good?

Mine is a manual boot opening, not automated, on an A4 Avant. The part number appears to be 8k9827552b015. I had a quick look online but there seems to be all manner of brands you can buy. Does it not matter what you buy or are some much better than others?

Any help you can offer would be much appreciated

We fit Febi, I get it as 8K5 827 919 A but I can’t look up the Febi number at home.

Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.

Thanks Crasher. Buycarparts.co.uk have them at £37.20 for the pair (including a 15% off offer), product code 31666. Just trying to see how much their carriage is. It says free shipping on orders over £140 but doesn't say how much otherwise.
