Hi. I'm looking to buy new car. Decision made and choose new shape Q7. Check few before and only onr made my attention. Is anyone seen this car or can spot something wrong or good about it? I'm 90% sure I want it but cant make 100% decision as its lots of money. Here the link for the car. For all advice I will be appreciated. Thank u very much.

    Hi Hubert and welcome

Initial looks it seems ok. Seems a fairly standard specification so the price reflects that accordingly but "visually" it looks alright to me.

    I'd only say 2 things:

    1. If there is a specific feature/option you want in your new car, then mention it and we may be able to point out if its on that car or not.
    2. If you want Apple Car Play / Android Auto then check it has it first because the first lot of Q7's didn't have it and if you want it, you may have to pay a dealer £250 + labour to get it activated in the car assuming that car is in the applicable list of vehicles it can be added to.

    Other than that... looks good!

Just from personal experience with my SQ7:

    1. If possible, take the car on a long test drive (the longer the better, and preferably on a motorway), and make sure you check the coolant level both before and after the drive, if there is a drop in the level you could have the same EGR coolant leak that I had.
    2. Accelerate gently from idle and watch the rev needle - if it hesitates and/or there are any transient dips in power delivery then it cold be a similar DPF/turbo issue that I've had.

Please don't be put off, it is a great car and you will love it. I'm pretty sure I've just been very unlucky and the vast majority of guys on here have had no issues.

Thank you for the advice. I will go tomorrow for long test drive and see how it is to drive such a nice car.

Enjoy your test drive. After a couple of goes in the Q7 I just got out and thought “I have to have one of these”, all round great package, lovely to drive and awesome tech (obviously depends on the specifics - does the one you’re looking at have Tech Pack - recommended). Engine and gearbox are great, only thing I would say it the steering could be a bit more engaging. It’s also a huge - long - beastie.
As andyhud had said some early cars don’t have Apple CarPlay installed. A few very early ones cannot. Mine didn’t have it on but I got it installed (Dec 2015 build), and the shared the cost with the dealer as he’d indirectly implied it had it on it when I test drove the car. It’s just software licence codes in a CD box. CarPlay is really useful e.g. dictating texts to send via Siri, Spotify, Audible etc.
