This is my thread from 3 years ago Parking Brake Failure

I too had problems restoring basic settings.

Have a read through & it might help you solve your's, although the initial fault was completely different.

I have nearly managed to do everything, all lights off besides one parking light which is caused by one fault. Because it is on the 0000012 code, it thinks there should be an auto hold button and as mine doesn't have it, it is showing up a fault as it can't detect it. Either I get it on the 0000011 code or I install the auto hold button.

I am using epb right now, functional test was success and epb is working

Finally done! I went to IVS in Huddersfield and they hooked up a vag com and did the exact same coding as me and it was accepted. The light still didn't go until multiple tries. They did it for free which was very nice of them or it's a £25 charge.

Regarding some issues I had prior to changing the module, I realised that the issues themselves maybe down to dodgy controller and so I changed the module and those faults disappeared.

So I replaced the calipers, then end of connectors, got a new epb button and a 2ND hand parking brake module. Coded it all in and now it's finally done. Thank you DMitch and PhillipHarmes. I'd say total money spent on parts was £230. I'll be going back to the wiring later so it never comes apart.

Now I'm off to fit in a radio can-bus so I can use RCD 310...

Pleased you have got it sorted now DieselMonster.

It does give you great satisfaction when you can finally put it to bed so to speak.

You did well to get all that done for £230.

Great result and good perseverance as many would have buckled and spent twice as much. Note on coding, although you did get it done free, sometimes it takes multiple tries to get the right code to go in - if you know the code being entered is right and the module good just keep trying.
