    Hello!

(in advance, I am sorry if some om my terminology isn't quite on point, seeing as I am not a native english speaker, but I will try my best to explain what I mean)

As stated in the title, I have an issue regarding my VW Golf MK4 1.9 tdi. I bought the car faulty from a guy that didn't know much about what was wrong with it, thinking it was an easy fix, but it's turning out it isn't (or so I believe). The car turns on all fine every time I try, and then runs for 5-10 seconds before blowing out a sh*tload of black smoke and then dying.
Just had the immobilizer removed without any luck.
I've also looked at the nozzles and made sure none of them are faulty in any way, and made sure they get power.
    Removed the EGR valve.
Checked the manifold for soot/carbon buildup, but it was all fine.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated, as I am starting to run out of ideas.

    Regards
    Dolan

I'm thinking this has the old style tdi engine with the rotary (VP) fuel pump? Have you checked the antishudder flap which is part of the EGR valve assembly is remaining open, from my memory of when I had one of these engines this flap is vacuum operated, try disconnecting the vacuum hose to the flap actuator on the side of the EGR.

If the injectors have power feeds to all four it will be a PD. What was the result of the fault code read that you must have done before you did anything else? It cannot be the immobiliser as that cuts the engine within one second so that was money wasted.

Check your rocker cover it has a built in vaccum reservoir and mine had a fine crack along top. Kept going in limp mode on a cold start now all fixed runs sweet.
