    Hi,
I have a 2007 Audi S8 with under 5000mls on the clock. The car has been stood for over 8yrs and has a fair few issues. Before I try to fire her up would it be neccasary to drain out the fuel tank.

How and what would be the best way approach this.
Any expert help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I would drain and flush as this is an FSI and they do not like dirty fuel, we have just had to fit a new set of injectors to one and £1793.64 a set... mind you that is less than four on a Golf TDI.... One very important point is that these V10’s have a nasty habit of tearing the bores apart so I would take the plugs out, add some light oil and then crank it over, by hand would be nice but the front pulley is evil to get at.

Hi, thanks for posting. I soaked all the pistons in marvels mystery oil for a week, the engine seemed to turn over smoothly by hand. But while draining the oil a cupful of what looked like water drained out.

Possibly condensation, if I was doing this I would have my borescope down the plug holes.
