Hi, my coupe is missing like a bag of hammers. Starts fine but misses badly. Changed cap, plugs, leads, arm, checked timing, all injectors squirting through but it just seems to be massively overfueling, black smoke and all. Don’t know how to do diagnostics on it either which doesn’t help....
Any ideas? Is there an ecu on it and if so, where is it also, where would be the diagnostics lead/port be and what do I need to read it please.
    Thanks in advance.

The diagnostics plugs will be what are known as 2x2 so you would need a 2x2 to OBDII adapter lead for a system like VCDS, without using this connection AND an intercept lead to the differential pressure regulator with a low range multimeter it is impossible to set up a KE-Motronic engine correctly.

I have the 8v version. My ECU is under the rear seat. The diagnostic output is in the fuse box under the bonnet, 2/2 adaptor required. Mine ran like a bag of bolts for a bit, ended being the fuel pump. Good luck with it. Not sure where you are but if you are near me I can put VCDS on it for you?
    Cheers
