    Hi,
i've just taken ownership of a A6 SE Quattro 4.2 avant. its a UK 55 plate, but was registered in Feb 2006.
i've been trying to find out where i can purchase software to update the MMI & Nav. Audi dealer says MMI is service item only, but will flog me the disks for £197 for the Nav update.

i've seen loads on ebay, but unsure as to what i'd need.

    current software is
    current software is C6-HU 6350 11.1.0 0442.
    HW: C6-HU 6351D2.0
    FC SW: 04144AFC6AB320010
FC PS: 0010 FC HW: H03.

    current nav software is:
    Media version - EUROPA_0690_1994
    Data Bank - 9D2/20040702095719

i'm not sure if i have 2G low or 2g high.
i don't want to order the wrong software and screw the system.

    Thanks in advance.IMG_5162.jpgIMG_5161.jpg

i did, thank you. but there are a huge number of options - one thread i read said i need to upgrade to a mid version before doing the latest.
i don't know for sure if mine is a 2g low or 2g high. i think 2g high, but don't fancy risking it and bricking it with the wrong software.
i asked one seller vag-technik if this would work, AUDI A6,A8,Q7 MMI UPDATE SET 4CDs "SW 5570" , MMI HIGH 2G, NEWEST 2018 | eBay but he just said no, my car is too old and i'd need to go to the dealer.

Vag-technic knows his job. He prepared mmi update package for me before.

i'm sure he does - but i don't fancy spending main dealer money to update it - so wanted to know if anyone knew of any other methods of updating apart from main dealer.

thank you. i read that earlier, but wasn't sure if it would be applicable to mine. does this mean that the part number/cd for a UK A6 is:
    • Europe A6, A8, Q7: 4L0 998 961

    thanks again.

think i might give this a miss.
Vag-tech says that updating it can cause massive problems on most updates, and there is little benefit to the upgrade.
although i love updating the firmware on every compter item i have i might need to give this a miss
