Hi all, long time reader, first time poster!

52 plate A4 1.9tdi Quattro estate, front passenger door had intermittent issues with locking and elec window function. Stupidly I didn't resolve the issue at this point so the door locked shut and I had to butcher a fair bit of stuff to get it open again. Anyway, thats by-the-by really.

I found the cause of the problem; the standard wires between door and pillar. Replaced thinking this would regain functionality to the door based electrics; did it f$ck.

Anyone have any ideas? I have no locking, no elec windows, no elec mirrors, not showing as open on dash console etc. All other doors working fine.

    Any help gratefully received

Have you checked the wiring loom from the drivers door to the A-pillar as well? If nothing else, just to rule it out? If you've taken things apart, have you definitely re-connected the earth? Just a thought.

I had similar issues with the driver's door which actually knocked out the windows and mirror on the passenger door. The problem with mine turned out to be the socket in the vehicle side had corroded and pins were broken off and lodged in the plug. It is doable to change the socket with some quick fit wire joiners from Screwfix if you need to do this, you'll find the sockets aren't dear of just cut one from a scrap motor. Alternatively and as said before check all wiring and make sure the plugs are inserted correctly then the levers used to secure them.

Have you determined the health of the replacement loom that you fitted, also as mentioned, the drivers door can still ponce about with other doors functions

    Hi did you get sorted.

Check out my thread about door problems

    Driver's door electrics - locking/windows/mirror dead

This part may help "The above was the fix, but I made a silly embarrassing error I will share here in case it helps anyone. The connector from the door card that goes into the motor has a sort of cam/ratchet lever. I had not engaged this correctly and it was not making a connection. See pics for right and wrong way.
