    Hello 👋

Hope someone can help. I have a 2014 A6 2.0tdi ultra S/line s/tronic automatic with 49000 miles which has developed a P2279 fault (flashing amber glow plug warning light). When the problem initially occurred I was accelerating on an on slip to join the motorway. The car then went into limp mode.

I pulled over restarted the car and the fault seemed to be reset. However on accelerating again up to 2k revs the same thing happened. I know the code refers to a vacuum leak and as a result had it checked with a smoke machine but this didn’t show up any leaks. I’ve also tried giving the car a good run (70 miles in 4th gear) in an effort to reset the DPF but this hasn’t solved it either.

Urban driving doesn’t activate the fault and very gentle accelerating up to about 70-80mph doesn’t activate the fault also.

December last year the Adblue pump was renewed and I’ve had no Adblue warning so far which is unusual after this length of time. But not sure if this is linked.

    Thanks for any help.

You are in the wrong forum you need to post this in the C7 forum.

This should give you a bit of an idea.

Sound similar to my old golf. Car was detecting it was over boosting then went to limp mode. If it’s like the old turbo actuators it’s controlled with a vacuum pipe.

initially I used a handheld Konnwei OBD device. Following that a friend ran it through a diagnostic computer at his work where it returned P227900 fault code. That also returned a historic fault from April P200200 (DPF fault).

My suspicions may be wrong but I would like to see the result of a VAG specific code read carried out with VCDS or ODIS.

    New development.

Fault cleared itself and ran trouble free since last update. Had 1/4 tank of fuel at that point. Fuelled it today to half a tank and as soon as I joined the motorway fault resurfaced. Checked back and noticed I had fuelled the car shortly before the fault developed first time round.

Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks
