    Hi folks.
My A4 diesel multitironic gearbox has failed after developing a leak, now it is making grinding noises and its clearly on its way out.
Can these gearboxes be repaired or reconditioned. Has this happened to anyone else?
    Thanks.

I believe they can be repaired but its normal to replace the whole box as there is unknowns on where the bits and pieces of the gearbox has ended up. Although certain gearbox specialists strip the box down and clean all parts before reassembly but its pricey and there is always unknowns on a second hand box.
