A/C on our 2 year old Q7 (less than 20k miles) isn't working too well. Personally I don't think it should need re gassing so soon, it could be a fault (we had something similar on our A4 a while back) or it could just need re-gassing.

Anyone regassed their Q7 themselves? My RS4 also needs doing, so was thinking of buying a kit and doing it myself to both rather than lay £60 a car at kwik fit!

At least its not just ours, ours is almost 2 years to the day. Just got the reminder to do the road tax!

Going to run a vcds scan when I get home, see if there are any fault codes.

Aircon needs a specific amount of refrigerant and oil, these happy clappy top up merchants have no real idea, download into a vacuum and correct measurement is the only way. Too much is as bad as too little.
If he covers your area John @ www.airconditiongforcars.co.uk, is a top lad even gives advice for free on common faults, but a decent specialist is better than a kwikfit cowboy.

I had mine done when it went in for the 2 year service a couple of weeks ago. I didn’t think there was an issue but since I’ve got it back it does seem like it can blow colder. Could be imagining it though!

I think the recommended interval is two years.. I have just had both my cars done and it does make a big difference...

People seem to think that gas should not escape, but over time it does and it can lose quite a bit through seals... plus how do you know a new car has the full amount in...

I would advice against refilling yourself you can overfill which will cause more problems, and expensive... Plus a proper service will also add oil to lubricate the system.. For what it cost get it done professionally...

In fact you now need to be certified to service AC system, so technically you could be breaking the law.. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/qualific...ntaining-f-gas

Technically speaking regassing an AC system without qualification and licensing is illegal with some quite punitive punishments involved.
