    Hi Guys,

Got a snapped front coil spring, I've managed to remove the assembly and remove the coil, do these have to be replaced in pairs?

I've noticed a colour coding Brown/Pink/Pink on one of the coils.

Second thing is, the top suspension arm main bushes that attach to the top alloy bracket are cracked, just the rubber in the bushes, they haven't totally broken but have some cracking, should I replace these as otherwise the leg ends are quite serviceable?

If so I'm having trouble getting the long bolt out of the main part of the leg, at first I thought it was two (a nut and stud and a bolt) but after I shifted it I realised it's one long bolt, I'm, assuming that these joints have an indent on them that the bolt secures as it passes through them like the steering tie rod end joint?

I've managed to get the bolt to turn but it's tight, should this just drive out or is it threaded out? I suspect I have to whack it out to release the two top mounts?

Advice greatfully accepted, I need to get back OTR asap as it's a hospital run car.

Also any ideas where I can get a spring? There are some on eBay but in pairs.

    Cheers Stav.

    Okay,

Got the arms all off and spring on order.

Does anyone know how I can tell which lower front arm I need? 16mm or 20mm ball joint?

I've measured the old one with a vernier, the taper starts at 16mm near the thead and is a touch over 20mm at the rubber boot end.

Which size do I need? I'm a bit confused by it.

The main steering knuckle is made of alloy and not steel, from what I can gather from searches the alloy knuckles are 16mm and the steel are 20mm, please correct me if I'm wrong.

    Thanks.

    EDIT: It's okay, sorted - 16mm
