Bought the car a couple of weeks ago. And new the front brakes needed doing. Replaced discs and pads. Compressed the piston in as I've always done. Then used a pressured container to replace the fluid. (one man tool) I sucked out the fluid in the reservoir first then flushed each corner . Started at the front. And did about 200ml per wheel. When driving home I noticed the brakes were petty naff. And just thought new brakes. Need bedding. the pedal pumps to a hard pedal. But when you need them, it goes to the floor. And I've had to pump them 3 times when coming to a junction. In order to get a good braking pedal. The brakes still do work, even when the pedal is right down low.

I've done some research. And it's not looking like, "its just that" part.

Some say new master cylinder. Some say keep bleeding. Some say. Plug it in and do a abs pump flush...

Car was OK before. And didn't change rear brakes just bleed the system through. I did not remove or undo and part of the hydraulic section. Other than the bleed nipple.

Used a whole 1lt to do the job.

Did all thre pistons retract effortlessly?

I think I would jack each corne rup remove the wheel and see how much free play each calliper has.

If you think about it logically if its got air in it the pedal will not pump up hard, the fatc it needs pumping says to me something is sticking and the act of pumping forces it free and when you release the pedal the something goes back to its previous position.
Could aslo be disc runout knocking the pads back into the calliepr as the wheel rotates.

You may have pumped a litre or so of fluid but you have air trapped in there which needs a 1.5Bar pressurised bleeding system to remove.

Anthropogenic climate change, the biggest con inflicted on mankind since religion...
