    make sure you can get the pad carrier bracket off, as I don't think you can get the disc top hat off the the hub with the bracket still in place, those bolts are tight as hell, and be aware you are meant to replace the torque to yield bolts.

    I had it off before when done the discs, used the same bolts again..

    Is it just one splined bolt holding the baring/hub on? Can heat be used if needed?

    There is an M18 XZN behind the cap which MUST be replaced. The bolt sticks out of the back of the hub and needs cleaning and lubricating there before removal or you can rip the thread out of the hub carrier, we always run a chaser tap down the thread when the bolt is out. The torque spec is 180Nm plus 180 degrees which means you need a very long lever. The first M18 I bought snapped as I was getting near the angle and I ended up as a crumpled heap on the floor so I bought a genuine one.

    a new bolt should come with the new hub. it wont be a gen vw part though.. did you use an impact gun removing, or didnt risk it incase stripped teeth? refitting, did you use some thread lock , or just torque it up

    Already had these Clarke ones, done the job. There was abit blue on the end of the new bolt. Thanks for the help
