Hi Guys need a bit of help if possible.

Yesterday I was driving to oxford and the gps vs sat nav maps got a little lost in fields etc - no issues as the part of A43 could be newer than maps.

On return journey slightly different route back I noticed the sat nav got lost again but this time when I was back on the M1 the nav was trying to reroute me out of what I think was Leamington Spa.

Such that getting to my destination (as programmed in) the nav was still trying to reroute me and showed 60 miles to go still.

Today parked up at home the GPS location on the map thinks I’m somewhere else...not quite sure where but zooming out looks to be near Coventry.

Any ideas to fault? Car is booked in but not for couple of weeks...

Yes, quite likely water incursion. Or a shaky antenna out of the factory. Antennas are not entirely "simple" - they are more than just a piece of wire. I don't know a lot about GPS antennas but I've messed about with building high gain base loaded antennas for small remote control models (35 MHz range) in the past so I have some incline that there is more going on. Water ingress definitely could cause an issue.

If the car is under warranty then yes it should be covered if that is what it is.

Seems a common problem with water ingress in the aerial. The rubber seal underneath doesn’t look like it’s up to much and things like pressure washers and auto car washes can easily get water through the seal.
Other things to be aware is pretty strong cleaners/solvents are readily available now and some can dry out rubber. Those foamy car wash places use pretty strong chemicals like tfr and tar removers which isn’t good for rubbers.
If there’s warranty I would pursue it that way. A colleague had similar problems and got new aerial and new roof lining under warranty.

I had the exact same problem on a MB many years ago. Sat Nav thought I was in the middle of the sea....new antenna sorted it.

Have you tried resetting the MMI? I had this on my previous A6 where it would think that I was somewhere near to where I actually was. Resetting the system sorted the issue out. Worth a try before you purchase a new GPS...

    Thanks for all the replies

The car is booked in and let’s see what they diagnose - the booking actually coincides with the final day of the warranty as they can’t get the car in any sooner so 🤞🏼

Have you reported the SatNav issue already? Just make sure it is "in frame" before you dive in on the last day of warranty... Depends on the dealership of course but some might get a bit evasive as it's the UK warranty (paid by Audi UK) rather than the factory warranty that will pay out at that stage. Factory warranty is first 2 years then Audi UK picks it up dor next year as I understand it...
