    Hi all,

I have just joined and I have an issue with the climatronic unit. The vacom come up with code 01320, which is communication to the unit. This is because the fuse for the unit keeps blowing, it instantly blows when a new one is put in. However the fan blower is still working. Has anyone had this issue before and can point me in the right direction? I am struggling to fault find it as I can not communicate with the unit. Is it likely to be the unit head that has gone faulty or a short somewhere else in the wiring? I have not been messing about with the car, and so is not something I have knocked or unplugged.

    All opinions welcome

    Thanks in advance

Try to unplug the battery and put the fuse and than plug it so you can see if the problem is fixed.
If not, the modem is likely to be the problem since it burns every fuse you put in. I hope you put the same amperage for the fuse.

Hi, thanks for the reply, So undo Battery replace fuse and reconnect battery? even tho the ignition is off when I change the fuse? I am using a 10A fuse which is what was in and what the panel says it should be. Whats the modem please and can I get a replacement cheaply?

    Thanks

Yes exactly. Try this, if it doesn’t fix change the climatronic unit or go to an electrician to measure it. Modem=climatronic unit in this case since the climatronic unit itself has the module inside it. You can try with a used one, it is very easy to unplug it from your car.

I hope you know how to unplug the battery. First minus and than plus. Plug it in the sequence you unpluged it. Plug it plus and than minus.

Put your hand under the unit and you will find something like 2 clips mounted on the middle of the base of the unit. With 2 fingers Push them upside or aside and pull the unit towards you.

sounds like a plan - what if you disconnect the unit then try a new fuse - this will eliminate wiring and you can get a new unit in confidence then?

If the unit is faulty and it’s not a wiring issue (the wires can snap at the plugs) then you will need to get the component protection removed off the replacement climatronic unit.
