Which brakes work hardest? Front or back? Or equal?

My back brakes seem to be quite a bit hotter than the fronts all the time under normal usage, back left even hotter. Fronts are clearly bigger discs, so perhaps that’s why they are generally cooler.

I get there are a lot of variables to determine this next question, but on average, what sort of peak temp should I expect from the discs under normal usage? I’m trying to build up a profile when for when I take it in for warranty appraisal.

Driving to work today for example, 37 miles on motorway mainly, fronts ended up at approx. 30 degrees. Back right 40 ish, and back left in the 60s.

Fronts do most of the work , partially seized rear calipers ?

i think thats the issue to be perfectly honest, hecne my questioning from your guys. The dissapointng thing here ism Audi Stilring diagnosed warped discs 4 weeks ago on my car whcih had done only 12k (milage when i bought it). I got them replaced at an indy but 4 weeks on, im starting to feel fluttering again. anxious that the source of the issue hasnt been adressed, i.e. sticky calipers as youare alluding.

Hi. Could be an ABS issue, a sensor grabbing the rear left in normal running, or a wheel bearing failing generating heat. Did you receive evidence that the discs were warped ? And we're they front or rear.

I’ve suspected a bearing too actually. It can be a lumpy subtly course/grindy ride; most o fthe time! However, not the typical hum I’ve experienced when bearings have gone in other cars I’ve owned. I get more road feedback through the accelerator, floor, and centre console than I think is normal for this car.

Only evidence regards warping was on the warranty invoice. Apparently nearside front and rear were warped.
