Interesting, your rear looks identical placement to mine but for the front I had min installed on the drivers side. What was your thinking for placing it on passenger side? Mine was on driver’s so that (a) I could reach buttons easily and (b) the lens [on the left of the device] is nearest to the car centre line direction. It doesn’t get in the way of vision like that. It does mean that there is more wiring around the top area with buttons on b it it’s tucked away. Would be good to compare notes...

I wanted it on the passenger side so it was out of view. I wasn’t bothered about being able to access the buttons as only need to when stationary and it’s still easy enough from the drivers seat.

I guess if you need to use he REC button it’s easier from drivers side, but as I’ve got a 128gb card in there, I don’t need to worry about a recording being accidentally overwritten.

When you view the recordings, it’s only just noticeable that the camera is slightly to the left.

Here’s my pics as promised. Both very neat the only protruding wires are what you can see in the photos, everything else is hidden. The F770 front has a neat receded pocket for the lead plugs so the cable just emerges out.

Had something/somebody scratch my bonnet today part of which is down to the primer, around an inch and 4 inch scratch overall.

7000 miles and been very lucky to date... fuming but convinced that a dashcam would have helped.

So my wife talked me out of POF and a dashcam... suffice to say she’s aware of my feelings towards her opinions this evening :-)

Anyhow.. looked at RAC and see they’re offering the thinkware 800. The 900 is out so would you go direct to chameleon? Or use RAC for some reason I’m unaware of?

    Thanks I advance

    A

I went via RAC just because at the time they had an offer on the 770 including half price fitting, via Chameleon. Personally I like to always take the latest tech/model there is thought for future proofing. Not sure I really want an on-board fascist but each to their own :-)
