    Hi all.

Does anyone have information on changes to a 1.4 [150] GT Estate for the upcoming MY19?

I have one on order but didn't realise there was a change of spec coming!

    Cheers,
    Dave.

I think this is as per the current price list (dated end of April) which is basically the changes for 2018 with some models removed from sale, such as he 2.0TDI 190 manual models. The GT gets the LED headlights over the previous years spec.

    Thanks Frank!

I assumed that since the April info was already available the MY19 spec would be different. The supplying dealer couldn't give any information on upcoming changes but indicated there could be some.

With the new emmisions regulations coming in shortly I thought the 1.4 TSI might even be changed to the 1.5TSI. I see the configurator has changed recently to remove some engine options but the 1.4 [150] is still there. So the engine change might be saved for the facelift next year.

I found a German forum with some chat about potential MY19 changes but it just seems to be people guessing...

I did notice a while back lots of models were missing from the configurator, much less than the price list and have just had another look and it’s the same - no 2.0TDI 190 models showing apart from the Alltrack, no 1.6TDI and no 1.8TSI so it’s 1.4TSI with 125 and 150bhp and 2.0TDI either 150 or biturbo 240 only

    Hello

Does anyone have any insight on these changes?

As I'm keen on the 1.4 estate, but dealers have been informed me to expect Nov or later for factory orders. But no clue on what the new model year brings!

    Thanks!

I believe the changes made earlier this year constitute the 2019MY change and there have been no further announcements (indeed the current changed spec was announced at the same time you could order so I can’t imagine there is a huge build up to any further specification changes)

Production options for a number of VAG cars are having an impact on waiting times as the seismic shift from diesel to petrol takes place - petrol engines are mainly built in the Czech Republic where as Diesel engines are built in Germany; lines in Germany are being converted to build petrol engines (which has meant a reduction in diesel availability) and petrol engine capacity still hasn’t caught up hence a 4 month order for a new Passat 1.4TSi

Since my initial post I have had it confirmed that there are no changes from the previous MY.

I've heard of a few people having orders cancelled or delayed due to the new emmisions regulations but my 1.4 GT Estate ordered in May just completed build today!

I (rather hopefully) asked for delivery in September so it's on a '68 plate which I've been told is fine. I expected to be told no because (as I understand it) cars which have not been tested under the new regulations cannot be registered after August?! Not complaining but I half expect to have it delivered on an 18 plate on the last day of August when they realise...

I was wondering if they would phase in the 1.5, as that is happening for Skoda. Hopefully there will be some news.

I'd guess the 1.5 will come to the Passat when it is facelifted next year.

Alternatively, I heard that the Audi A4 can no longer be ordered with the 1.4 and has been replaced by a detuned [150PS] 2.0, so VW could go the same route with the Passat. Seems unlikely when you can get the 1.5 in the Aerton though...

    I have a 1.4TSI due for October.

I’m sure it’s just an error, but had this email the other day:
