    Hi any help with this would be appriciated,trying to fault find an AC issue I changed 2 x relays ( j329 ) KL15 = 460 and ( j59 ) KL75 = 460. KL75 was a tx?t to get out so used a screw driver ! wrong ! Now may windowscreen washers dont work and cabin fan does not work. What controls j59 control side ? I have attached pics of circuit I think is not working and vcds scan

    You need diagnostic equipment, a typical problem with the 3C is compressor failure and if you have gas pressure and no fault codes it is nigh on 99% certain the compressor regulator valve has failed. What you have damaged will also need diagnostic equipment to narrow down.

    Thanks for the reply the AC had a big leak and a new o ring is needed plus regassing but ! The point I am really stuck with is the control side of j59 ( load reduction relay ) I put leads on each control terminal on j59 relay 1 has battery voltage and when I ground the other relay clicks on and fan and winderscreen washers work ? So has j59 got its own groung or does it use j519 common ground ? looked for module pin out but only fused terminal 75 and terminal 75x displayed. just want someone to discuss possible fixes may throw part at it next

    The J59 (AKA “X contact relief relay”) gets power from fuse board B via a 50 amp fuse at position 29 usually (Highline models have a more sophisticated fuse board and the 50 amp fuse is at position 53) and this feed goes directly to the J519 on-board supply control unit (AKA “central electrics”) and out to terminal 30 of the relay as what is called line 30a, that’s is permanent battery live but fused which is not quite what DIN 72552 specifies but that is what it does and is now line 75 which goes to fuse 40 on the dash side fuse board. The relays coil is controlled by the J519 across terminals 85 and 86 and disconnects the line 30a. The way in which the J519 controls J59 is basically that when the starter is cranking (Line 50) it breaks the contact to reduce the load on the battery to provide more power for starting and so anything on line 75 is cut out so anything off of fuse 38 (12 power sockets) 39 (heater blower and AC, heated washer jets) 40 (light switch ignition live feed) and 42 (rear wiper and washer pump) and fuse 48, that’s about it I think. Int olde days this signal would come from the ignition switch at terminal 50 and a black/yellow wire and for some odd reason the lights were through the switch not the relay so the switches often burned out due to overload, I still have no idea why they did that, maybe they were worrying about relay failure but the load made the switches fail anyway… On yours the ignition switches (E595) sends various resistance signals to the steering column controller (J527) and this sends a line 50 signal out of plug T20d pin 10 on the red/grey wire to the ignition lock unit (D9) and out of this to the J519 which operates the j59 relay during cranking.

    Wow thanks for such a detailed reply is that from a book or just memory ? Replaced J519 and all is well again. Could not find damage on old j519 PCB but. Again crasher thanx for your help !
