    I had to use my spare wheel today and in the tool kit found this black square thing with a rubberised edge. Can't for the life of me find out what it's for. It's shown in this link. Any ideas

    Probably sits on the jack to help the cill edge from damage.

    No. The jack has a round cylinder that fits into a hole under the car

    Think that’s the thing for removing the rear lights to change a bulb. Only for non led clusters.

    Can confirm this, for removing outer cluster for changing bulbs, or for removing LED cluster in event of failure.
