    Hi, is anyone else having the same issue? Wasn’t sure whether it’s an issue with the car or the Audi/Google earth service.
    Thanks

    OK - turned out my sim data allowance had run out, so topped up 14th in the evening with 500mb, with little driving to do that day. the sim has run out by the 18th. Anyone had issues of excessive data usage? in my A6 the 500mb would last a month quite easily?

    No I have a MY16 car with separate SIM so can track usage. Couple of hundred MB a month I’d say but that’s just satnav, all the Spotify stuff etc goes through the phone with CarPlay.

    Glad it was an easy fix!

    Do you have your phone connected to the Wi-fi. Seen people have issues in the past where the phone thinks it’s okay to do its app updates as it’s on Wi-fi

    An office 365 suite update is almost 1GB !

    Yep look on bottom left. When it say TMC it’s time to spend.

    Pitch
    HIS - XC90 D5 R Design (sorry, had to be done)
    TOY - 2001 Westfield 2.1 SEW,172bhp SOLD TO MY BROTHER, I needed a PANERAI.
    HERS - 'R' New 7spd DSG and 310 rampant ones. 4.2 off the mark will do nicely

    @srbsq7 - yeah I was glad it was an easy fix also. I’d turned off the WiFi hotspot so my phone shouldn’t be using the car’s data.
    @pitch - when you say TMC, what does that mean? Mine has that on the screen.

    Thanks

    TMC was the old way of getting real-time traffic data via the FM radio. With an internet enabled car it can go direct and hence its says ONLINE. If data is not available it defaults back to TMC.

    A little update;
    Found a little menu in settings to show data usage.
    250 mb used in first day of top up 40 mile return journey.
    First 20 mile leg another 120mb of data.
    Turned off;
    internet traffic info
    Map data for both MMI and virtual cockpit
    Changed WiFi password just in case.

    Return 20 mile journey 6 mb used .

    Will turn on things one at a time to monitor additional data use.
