    Hi

I'm new to the Forum, but have ready loads of Threads relating to this subject but been unable to find one that replicates the issue I have.

Car is 2009 B7 8H with multi function steering wheel and DIS.

I've fitted a cruise control stalk part no. 8E0 054 690, supplied by Audi dealer.

I've coded Engine module (11463) and Steering control module with VCDS, and re calibrated Steering angle sensor.

Both the clutch switch (new) and brake pedal switch are functioning correctly according to the measuring blocks.

The only thing I've noticed is that when looking at the measuring blocks for the cruise control switch the bytes don't match as shown on the VCDS field data 4, although maybe VCDS data is for a 4 position stalk/switch?

My measuring blocks are as follows:
    Cruise Off 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
    Cruise On 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 1
    Resume 1 0 1 0 0 0 0 1
    Speed - 1 0 0 0 0 1 0 1
    Speed + 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 1
    Set 1 0 0 1 0 0 0 1

I hope I've covered everything, any suggestions as to the problem greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Mate there's a lot more to cruise control than a switch, it's a £600 to £900 option on a new car, you need solenoids and a lot more pipework, a bit like retro fitting air conditioning not worth the cost.

    Hi Bill,
Thanks for your reply, you’re right, some years ago that used to be the case. These days often most of the sensors required are already fitted to the vehicle, providing information to the ECU. A Cruise switch, and possibly one or two other components, together with some recoding are often all that’s required.

Problem resolved, seems cruise switch was faulty, replacement rectified the fault.
