4th service cost warning

Just had my 4th service carried out on my 2014 Ultra at 73k miles at an Audi main dealer.

Was presented with an invoice for £1084.80, consisting service (£592.80), s-tronic oil (£225), front brake pads (£195 although originally quoted £227.58), and sunroof service (£72).

Can’t believe the service cost, given fixed priced major service is £338. Glad I have a service plan which cost £360 for 2 services.

So just a word of warning that if your car is over 3 years old don’t assume you’ll be charged the fixed price service costs!

Hi That £592 is very high were there any items that were replaced outside of the service ? if not then it should have been the fixed price dependent on which service it was. Did the service plan cover the £592 ? Also could it be that they have priced it outside of the fixed price to make a service plan a good option so you bye another one guaranteeing Audi the work. The price of the other services is in line with fixed prices so fair enough for them.

The £592.80 was just for the standard service (oil filter, screw, screen wash, filter ins, fuel filter, engine oil, environmental charge, and labour). Yes this was covered by the service plan. They only charged me the fixed price for the front brakes after I queried their quoted price of £227.58.

I just wanted to warn people that you have to specifically request a fixed price service prices otherwise you may be charged this very high service cost. My previous service costs (carried out before the car was over 3 years) were never that high.

Correct me if I am wrong, did that plan cost include the S-tronic, I assumed that would be a separate cost over and above the 2 year/18k interval service. Re the £592 bet that is the price for a second service if within the first 3 years, hoping to encourage you to purchase a plan going forward.
Bit of a dirty trick when they should be open about there fixed prices for over 3 years old and 2L or smaller.

S-tronic oil change was not included in the £592.80, nor is it included in the service plan.

Did you ask for a quote first, if not they have just charged you the full book cost. You can get a service plan for £450 (3 litre price) on 3+ year old cars, that covers 2 services, 1x oil, and 1x inspection, s tronic etc on top of that. I think you have been well and truly had, sorry.

Glad I used an indy for mine.
Oil change
Oil filter
Air filter
pollen filter
fuel filter
brake fluid flush and brakes all bled
tyres and various other systems/parts checked and adjsted

total bill was £318 for everything.

I'm also told that the Audi fixed price servicing for S-Tronic gearbox is a change of oil. The filters are not changed I'm told. Indy is more expensive than Audi but includes all the filter changes.
