    Hello all,

Today, my aircon pulley seized and literally shredded the belt. The part is £480+ new. I'd like to just bypass the aircon pulley and live without zircon.

I have read in a few places this is possible.

I just have a couple of questions, which belt do I need? - Car is: Golf MK5 1.6 FSI. 53 plate.

Is there anything I'm missing, such as do I need to have the garage remove a pulley to bypass it or will a different belt be able to do the job?

Thanks very much for any help.

Never done it and the part is obsolete from VW now but the part number was 6Q0 903 137 A and the spec 21.16x1088 so a typical factor supplied 6PK 22x1090 should do the job.
